Just a quick update on how things are going for the Feyh family.
I got back into town on Friday, September 17th around 5:30 just
in time to pick Alexa up from after school daycare. Her and I
had been planning a date at Kiku's, the Japanese restaurant that
cooks at your table. That is Alexa's favorite place to eat.
She got to attend her school skating party on Saturday and had
a friend come home with us and spend the night. On Sunday
morning we went to church at Hayden High School where mass is
being held for Mother Teresa Catholic Church.
Janelle told me that Daegen was put on TPN (nutrition through
the IV) either on Sunday or Monday. His eating was declining
enough that the doctors decided it was best to start him on TPN.
As I said in an earlier update, the transplant took place
without any problems. Now we are just waiting to see if my stem
cells do their job. Janelle asked Daegen one night what made
him sad and he said he really wanted to see his sister Alexa.
As hard as this is on Janelle and I living in separate cities,
it is probably harder on Alexa and Daegen being away from one
another.
The main doctor for the protocol told Janelle that Daegen is
doing better than most kids at this point. Janelle and I
continue to hope and pray that Daegen will continue to do well
and that the transplant will work this time. I am encouraged by
what the doctors tell us and their optimism that the transplant
has worked well in the past. There are really no long term
results yet since this particular protocol is fairly new.
I plan on going back to Memphis on Sunday, October 3rd and about
one hour after I land, Janelle gets on another plane and flies
home to be with Alexa. I will be three more weeks in Memphis
and Janelle will be three more weeks at home with Alexa. Just a
little note, I have recovered from my procedure and am not in
any kind of pain. Once I got the medication I needed, I finally
felt better.
As I continue to get more information from the doctors I will
pass the information along. Remember to visit the web site,
www.dmanhero.com and sign the guest book. God Bless.
