Just wanted to let everyone know about my son Daegen.  Some of you might already have received this e-mail, but many have not.  Daegen, as most of
you know was diagnosed with Leukemia in August 2003.  He had a Bone Marrow Transplant in January 2004 and had been in remission since then.  On
Tuesday, June 15, 2004 he began complaining about his stomach hurting.  He was admitted to KU Med and has undergone many tests.  Most of the test did
not show any reason for the stomach pains.  He had to have several doses of Morphine to control the pain.  On Thursday, June 17, 2004 a Bone Marrow
Aspiration was done in the morning.  Daegen's blood pressure was very low and unstable.  He had to be monitored round the clock.  His blood pressure
finally has come up.  The results of the Bone Marrow Aspiration show that Daegen has relapsed.  He has the same form of Leukemia that he had before.
The doctor said this is better than having a new form.  Janelle and I are not sure how his treatment is going to go.  There are several options, one that we absolutely won't consider and others that we need to be educated about.  Daegen has had to be poked many times already.  I told him that he is sick again and the Leukemia has come back.  I told him that he might lose his hair again.  Daegen just looks at me and smiles and nods his head up and down accepting this cruel disease.  I only wish I could be half the
man that he is.  He will continue to prevail and show everyone his strength, courage and heroic attitude.  We have not told Alexa yet as the opportunity has not been there.  I suspect she will be extremely crushed by this news.  Alexa and Daegen have become close and good friends through all
of this.  She is very caring and loving towards Daegen and continues to pray for him each and every day.  I ask that everyone continue to pray for
Daegen and a full recovery and for Janelle and Alexa so that they can have the strength to face this terrible thing head on once again.  I will probably be getting updates out more often now that we will be at the
hospital.  God Bless everyone and don't forget to check out his website at www.damnhero.com.
