I wanted to let you know a couple of things. First, in
my last e-mail, I messed up the website address. It is
www.dmanhero.com.
Secondly, Daegen
is currently back at KU Med. We had to take him to the
Stormont Vail Emergency room on Tuesday night. Starting
around 4:30 Daegen was complaining about his stomach
hurting. I called KU and we tried giving Daegen some
Prevacid. It did not work. At about 7:00 I called KU
back and they told me to take him to the emergency
room. After about three hours at Stormont Vail, we were
sent to KU. While at Stormont Vail, I had to request
the doctors give Daegen some morphine for the pain. It
works
amazingly fast. The pain was mostly gone for Wednesday
but he did have some morphine around naptime because
Daegen was complaining about it
hurting again. He started having a low-grade fever,
around 100.7. The doctors have ordered a lot of labs,
some from his Hickman and some he has
to be poked. Dr. Smith moved up Daegen's Bone Marrow
Aspiration from July to today at 8:30 a.m. His platelet
count was dropping at his Monday
appointment and by Tuesday it had dropped again. That
could be because of several things. The Bone Marrow
Aspiration will let us know if he is still
in remission or not and if he has the marker for
leukemia or if he has any of the bone marrow that was
transplanted. I am not sure how long we will
have to wait to find out the results. At this point, we
are still going ahead with Daegen's party on Saturday,
July 03, 2004 at our house. That
can change based on the results of today's test. If all
is okay, then the party is on for Saturday, July 03,
2004. If the results are not all okay,
then Janelle and I will have to talk with the doctors to
find out the next course of action, probably starting
all over again with chemotherapy. The
doctors have not given Janelle or I any indication that
Daegen is relapsing, that is me just being scared. As
soon as we know anything, I will try to get the
information out to everyone. Thank you for all your
